On September 3, 2024, from 10.00 A.M. to 11.30 A.M., the executives and faculty members of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY) led by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, the Dean, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Chaikledkaew, Deputy Dean for International and Public Relations, along with Asst. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, the Program Director of the Social, Economic and Administrative Pharmacy (SEAP) Graduate Program, and Dr. Amporn Songkasiri attended an online meeting hosted by Mahidol University's Global Partnerships Division, led by Ms. Wanpimon Senapadpakorn, the Director of Global Partnerships Division. The meeting was aimed to establish an international partnership between Mahidol University (MU) and Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) located in the Republic of Indonesia. The virtual gathering also determined to collaboratively discuss future academic collaboration between the two institutions.
The representatives of UMM's Faculty of Health Sciences included 1) Dr. Yoyok Bekti Prasetyo, Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences, 2) Dr. Henny Dwi Susanti, Vice Dean I, Faculty of Health Sciences, 3) Dr. Nailis Syifa, S.Farm, Vice Dean II, Faculty of Health Sciences, 4) Dr. Dimas Sondang Irawan, Head, S-1 Physiotherapy Study Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, and 5) Dr. Henik Tri Rahayu, Head, Cooperation Affairs.
The online meeting was a vibrant exchange of ideas, focusing on potential collaborations such as student exchange programs, joint research and publications, and co-hosted conferences. The discussions also laid the groundwork for mirror class programs, signaling a forward-looking approach to education that could benefit students and faculty alike. This initiative marks a new chapter in academic cooperation, with both institutions eager to leverage their strengths and enhance educational opportunities on a global scale. It also responded to SDG’s 4th Goal: Reduce inequality within and among countries, 10th Goal: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and 17th Goal: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership.
