MUPY joined the 5th International Conference on Traditional Medicine

On January 4, 2024, Asst. Prof. Dr. Jaturong Pratuangdejkul, Head of the Department of Microbiology, participated as the invited speaker in the 5th International Conference on Traditional Medicine (The 5th ICTM) organized by S.M.B.T. College of Pharmacy and S.M.B.T. Institute of Diploma Pharmacy located in Maharashtra, India. His topic was "Integrating In Silico Technology into Drug Discovery from Herbal and Traditional Medicines: Bridging Nature's Potential with Computational Precision" which was delivered via the Zoom platform. Having been physically held during January 4-6, 2024, the 5th ICTM was organized with the theme “Integration of AI and Traditional Medicine in Drug Discovery” at S.M.B.T. College of Pharmacy's Nandi Hills.

The 5th International Conference on Traditional Medicine was held to gather researchers, principal investigators, students,  and experts from academia and the healthcare industry across the world to provide an international forum for the dissemination of original research works, new ideas, and practical development experiences. The event would also share new advances in the field of quality assurance of traditional medicine with practice for the treatment and improvement of human beings. The event would capture this academic occasion to revitalize the enduring connections and flash new peers around the world. 

Furthermore, his participation in this conference supported the Faculty’s Missions in terms of serving as the portal for professional services that encompasses drugs, herbal medicine, cosmetics, and dietary supplement to support the sustainable development of the nation, resulting in increasing international visibility of Mahidol University’s Faculty of Pharmacy. It also responded to SDG’s Goal 4: Reduce inequality within and among countries. Goal 10: reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
