Overseas Internship at Meiji Pharmaceutical University

During October 24, 2023, to December 1, 2023, two 6th-year students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY) undertook their overseas internship at Meiji Pharmaceutical University (MPU), Japan. The students were in the Clinical Pharmacy Track. The students included 1) Ms. Sasitorn Boonnak and 2) Ms. Piyathida Puenchompoo. They were under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Kazuhiro HIGUCHI.

The overseas internship program in clinical pharmacy was determined to provide the 6th-year students with global knowledge and professional practices in pharmaceutical care at Japanese hospital and drugstores, and international exposure in Japan’s environment and academic atmosphere where they could gain international educational and cultural experiences in Asian country resulting in increasing MUPY students’ capacity as well as enhancing MUPY's international visibility.

Furthermore, this overseas internship program strengthened a strong relationship between MUPY and MPU. It also corresponded to the Faculty of Pharmacy's Mission of producing graduates with equivalent quality to leading pharmacy institutions in Asia, equipped with morality and competency to serve societal need. It also responded to SDG’s Goal 4: Quality Education to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
