On August 17, 2023, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Chaikledkaew, MUPY's Deputy Dean for International and Public Relations and the Program Director of Mahidol University Health Technology Assessment Program (MUHTA), participated as an invited speaker in The 5th Asia Conference on Pharmaceutical Sciences (ASIA PHARM V) Conference. Her topic was "Future Challenges of Health Technology Assessment on Policy Decision Making in ASEAN countries: Lesson Learnt from Thailand".
Having been held from August 16-18, 2023, this international conference was held under the theme "Progress and Achievement in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Biomedicine". It was hosted by the Faculty of Pharmacy, Ton Duc Thang University, in collaboration with three universities including 1) the College of Pharmacy, Seoul National University, Korea, 2) the School of Pharmacy, Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia, and 3) the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia. Furthermore, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Chaikledkaew also took part as the Chair of the oral presentation session in the area of Pharmaceutical Management & Economics.
The ASIA PHARM V Conference was an international scientific conference that offers a great opportunity to connect experts and researchers from different fields related to pharmaceutical sciences. It aimed to exchange knowledge, address challenges, facilitate innovation, and promote collaboration in pharmaceutical sciences domestically and internationally. Various activities were arranged during the conference, including plenary lectures, oral and poster presentations, exhibitions, networking events, awards ceremonies, and social activities. Through these activities, the event’s participants could learn about cutting-edge findings and trends in pharmaceutical sciences and extend their network.
In addition, this event supported the Faculty’s Missions in terms of serving as the portal for professional services that encompasses drugs, herbal medicine, cosmetics, and dietary supplement to support the sustainable development of the nation, resulting in increasing international visibility of Mahidol University’s Faculty of Pharmacy. It also responded to SDG’s Goal 4: Reduce inequality within and among countries. Goal 10: reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
