MUPY Student Mobility Program at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Santo Tomas, the Philippines

On June 20, 2023, MUPY's International Relations Office cohosted the 2023 Student Mobility Program with the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Santo Tomas (UST), the Philippines. Regarding this, Dr. Amporn Songkasiri, as the representative of Mahidol University’s Faculty of Pharmacy, led MUPY's undergraduate students to join the Student Mobility Program organized at UST located in Manila City, the Philippines from June 19, 2023, to July 12, 2023. Its welcoming event and orientation meeting of the Student Mobility Program were hosted by Prof. Dr. Agnes L. Castillo. Then, the students were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Aleth Therese L. Dacanay, the Dean of UST’s Faculty of Pharmacy. The meeting was also attended by UST faculty members who provided a warm welcome and reception for MUPY delegate and students. UST pharmacy students also joined the welcoming meeting and conducted a campus tour for Mahidol University students.

The students who visited UST to undertake their exchange program included the following.
1) Ms. Chayapa Kaprasit
2) Ms. Nattanicha Jaidee
3) Mr. Pawaris Chinaphan
4) Ms. Yanapat Panupas
5) Ms. Sineekarn Ying-Ariyakul

In addition, MUPY would like to thank Mahidol University’s Division of International Relations for providing its Undergraduate Student Mobility Scholarship for four pharmacy students to join this exchange program in the Philippines. Moreover, the Mahidol University’s Staff Mobility Scholarship has been also granted to Dr. Amporn Songkasiri to make this business trip to accompany the students and join the welcoming event at UST where he also had a chance to discuss future activities and strengthen a professional network with UST colleagues.

The Student Mobility Program aimed to provide the participating students with global knowledge, professional practices, and international exposure to the Philippines’ pharmacy education and healthcare system. They also gained internationally cultural experiences in ASEAN countries, resulting in increasing MUPY students’ capacity as well as enhancing MUPY's international visibility. Besides, this student exchange program also strengthened a strong relationship between MUPY and UST.
