Collaborative Meeting with Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine and Hanoi University of Pharmacy

On May 2, 2023, Mahidol University’s Faculty of Pharmacy (MUPY), provided a warm welcome to the delegates from Vietnam. They included the faculty member from Hanoi University of Pharmacy, namely Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Thuy Van, and the other one, namely Dr. Vo Thi Ha, from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine.

In this regards, MUPY’s executives led by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, the Dean, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Chaikledkaew, the Deputy Dean for International and Public Relations, together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, the Program Director of Social, Economic and Administrative Pharmacy Program had an opportunity to meet and discuss with the Vietnamese delegates came to MUPY to participate as external examiners in a thesis defense examination of Mr. Bon Huu Huynh, a doctoral student in Clinical Pharmacy Program. His thesis’s title was “The effectiveness of clinical pharmacists interventions on blood pressure control in Vietnamese hypertensive patients”, under a supervision of Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suvatna Chulavatnatol, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pramote Tragulpiankit.

During the visit, they also further discussed collaborative activities between two institutions, particularly a further education of young staff and Vietnamese students in graduate level at MUPY. In addition, the delegates visited the Faculty’s facilities, service centers, and the Pharmacy Department of Ramathibodi Hospital to explore an advancement in healthcare services at the Hospital. They received an honor from the members of the Hospital’s Pharmacy Department, led by Ms. Nantaporn Lekpittaya, Head of the Pharmacy Department, and her team members to share and exchange their professional expertise and experiences.

Furthermore, this meeting responded to SDG’s Goal 4: Reduce inequality within and among countries. Goal 10: reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
