During April, 11 - 12, 2023, MUPY's Division of Graduate and Postgraduate Studies organized the 1st MUPY Roadshow and Recruitment in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Having been physically organized at the Faculty of the Pharmacy, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, this roadshow was officially led by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University. Also joined this overseas trip included eight faculty members from several Graduate Programs including 1) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Chaikledkaew, the Deputy Dean for International and Public Relations and the Program Director of Health Technology Assessment Program, 2) Asst. Prof. Dr. Anchalee Jintapattanakit, the Deputy Dean for Finance and a Program Committee in Pharmaceutics Program, 3) Asst. Prof. Dr. Brompoj Prutthiwanasan, the Deputy Dean for Graduate Studies and the Program Director of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Phytochemistry Program, 4) Prof. Dr. Leena Suntornsuk, a Program Committee in Regulatory Science for Pharmaceutical and Health Products Program, 5) Asst. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, the Program Director of Social, Economic and Administrative Pharmacy Program, 6) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arthorn Riewpaiboon, a Program Committee in Social, Economic and Administrative Pharmacy Program, 7) Assist. Prof. Jennis Meanwatthana, a Program Committee in Clinical Pharmacy Program, and 8) Assist. Prof. Dr. Satsawat Visansirikul, a Program Committee in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Phytochemistry Program. The activities included 1) providing foreign students with the admission information, program details, and scholarship opportunities, 2) conducting an on-site interview for international students in the target countries. This 1st activity was scheduled at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
In the afternoon of April 11, 2023, there was a joint meeting between faculty members from both institutions to prepare various on-site activities arranged on the next day. During this two-day visit, the activities consisted of MoU signing ceremony between the Faculty of Pharmacy of Mahidol University and the Faculty of Pharmacy, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine. The MoU was signed by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan (the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University) and Dr. Nguyen Dang Thoai (the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine). This academic cooperation had a period for five years from April 12, 2023, to April 11, 2028. This international collaboration comprised of 1) exchanges of faculty members, researchers, and students at all levels, 2) a curriculum development collaboration, 3) research and academic cooperation, and 4) organizing of seminars and international academic conferences, and 5) exchange of information and educational resources, etc.
In addition, on April 12, 2023, a special lecture was held in a topic of "How to Deal with an International Scholarship Interview" delivered by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, followed by admission activities and interview of the students (an on-site recruitment) for entering in MUPY’s Graduate Programs. Those faculty members from six Graduate Programs gave information to the participating students, advised them on preparing for an admission, and did an interview with interested students. In this occasion, Asst. Prof. Dr. Krisada Sakchaisri, a Program Committee in Biopharmaceutical Sciences Program, conducted an online interview via the Zoom Meeting as well.
This MUPY Roadshow and Recruitment activities aimed to 1) increase channels and opportunities to publicize the Faculty's graduate programs to be widely known internationally, 2) attract interested students to study in various programs of the Faculty of Pharmacy which will increase the number of foreign students at the graduate level and, 3) promote opportunities to equally gain access to education. Moreover, these activities responded to the SDG's Goal 4th: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education. Secondly, the 10th Goal: Reducing inequalities, and Goal 17th: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
