On February 9, 2023, from 09.00 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. MUPY's faculty members including (1) Asst. Prof. Dr. Bhanubong Bongcheewin, Chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Botany, (2) Asst. Prof. Dr. Pattamapan Lomarat, Chair of the Department of Food Chemistry, and (3) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pongtip Sithisarn, Head of the Center of Analysis for Product Quality (Division of Natural Products), as the representatives of the Faculty of Pharmacy, attended a Zoom meeting aiming for a matchmaking in terms of research interest and collaboration between Mahidol University’s researchers and those from the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi).
Having been hosted by Mahidol University's International Relations Division, the meeting’s opening remarks were delivered by Mahidol University’s Vice President for International Relations and Corporate Communication, namely Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, and Prof. Alan Kin Tak LAU, THEi’s executive. The participants of this online meeting included researchers and academics from Mahidol University and THEi. The meeting was divided into three concurrent sessions for them to share their research interest as well as to present their current research works and projects. This online meeting mainly aimed to provide a platform for the researchers and academics from Mahidol University to meet those from the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) in order to establish new academic networks and match their research interest, resulting in a future research collaboration between two institutions.
In addition, this meeting supported the Faculty’s Missions in terms of producing research and innovation that meets national and international standard. It also responded to the SDG’s Goal 8th: Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all, Goal 10th: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17th: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
