Clinoderm เป็นชื่อทางการค้าของยาที่มีตัวยาสำคัญ คือ clobetasol propionate (1) ซึ่งเป็นสเตียรอยด์ชนิดทาภายนอกที่มีฤทธิ์แรงมาก (2) ปัจจุบันยังไม่มีข้อมูลการศึกษาที่ชัดเจนเกี่ยวกับการใช้ clobetasol propionate ในหญิงให้นมบุตรโดยตรง อย่างไรก็ตามหากใช้ในปริมาณมากหรือทาบนผิวหนังบริเวณกว้าง อาจทำให้ตัวยาดูดซึมเข้าสู่กระแสเลือดและส่งผลต่อระบบภายในของมารดาได้ แต่หากใช้ในระยะเวลาสั้นและจำกัดเฉพาะบริเวณจะไม่เพิ่มความเสี่ยงต่อทารกผ่านทางน้ำนม เพื่อความปลอดภัยควรเลือกใช้ยาสเตียรอยด์ที่มีฤทธิ์อ่อนที่สุดเท่าที่จำเป็นและทาเฉพาะบริเวณที่มีปัญหา พร้อมทั้งหลีกเลี่ยงไม่ให้ทารกสัมผัสกับผิวหนังบริเวณที่ทายา หากจำเป็นต้องใช้ยาสเตียรอยด์เฉพาะที่บริเวณเต้านมหรือหัวนม ควรเช็ดทำความสะอาดบริเวณนั้นให้เรียบร้อยก่อนให้นมทุกครั้ง และควรเลือกใช้รูปแบบยาในลักษณะครีมหรือเจลที่สามารถละลายน้ำได้ เนื่องจากยาขี้ผึ้ง (ointment) อาจทำให้ทารกได้พาราฟินในปริมาณสูงจากการเลียบริเวณดังกล่าวจนส่งผลเสียต่อทารก (3,4) โดยทั่วไปไม่ควรใช้ clobetasol propionate ต่อเนื่องเกิน 2 สัปดาห์ (5)
