Meptin มันดียังไงครับ ทำไมถึงให้เด็กที่ไอมากกินก่อนนอนแค่วันละครั้ง มันต่างยังไงกับ Bricanyl หรือ Ventolin ที่มักผสมกับยาอื่น แต่กินวันละ 2-3 ครั้ง

Meptin® (ชื่อสามัญ: procaterol) เป็นยาขยายหลอดลมกลุ่ม beta-2 agonist ที่มีฤทธิ์กระตุ้นหลอดลมให้ขยายตัว และลดอาการไอ มีทั้งในรูปแบบยาน้ำและยาเม็ด โดยมีคุณสมบัติเด่น คือ สามารถออกฤทธิ์ได้นานประมาณ 8 ชั่วโมงหลังรับประทาน จึงนิยมให้ก่อนนอนวันละครั้งเพื่อควบคุมอาการไอตอนกลางคืนโดยไม่ต้องกินยาซ้ำ ขณะที่ Bricanyl® (terbutaline) และ Ventolin® (salbutamol) ซึ่งเป็นยาในกลุ่มเดียวกัน มีระยะเวลาออกฤทธิ์ที่สั้นกว่าและจำเป็นต้องให้รับประทานวันละ 2–3 ครั้ง โดยเฉพาะ Ventolin® ที่ออกฤทธิ์เร็วแต่สั้นเพียงประมาณ 6 ชั่วโมง ดังนั้นจึงมักเลือกใช้ Meptin® เพื่อความสะดวกในการให้ยา
