On February 9, 2022, from 01:30 p.m. - 03:00 p.m., MUPY’s executives led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Chaikledkaew, the Deputy Dean for International and Public Relations, together with Asst. Prof. Supatat Chumnumwat, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Farsai Chanjaruporn attended a closing session of the 2021 MUPY-MPU Online Exchange Program.
MUPY’s staff along with the representatives of Meiji Pharmaceutical University (MPU) led by Prof. Manabu Akazawa and Prof. Akifumi Kushiyama also joined the final presentation of the participating students who completed this online exchange program. This virtual event was arranged via the Microsoft Teams platform. The students’ presentation included traditional medicine, a COVID-19 situation in both countries, and traditional medicine against COVID-19.
This online exchange program aimed to 1) provide the participating students with international experiences in the field of pharmacy education, the healthcare system of Thailand and Japan, and traditional medicine in both countries, 2) increase mutual understanding of the differences in the profession and responsibilities of pharmacists between the two countries, and 3) develop participating students’ English language skill, cross-cultural communication, digital skill, and interpersonal communication skills. It also aimed to increase academic staff and students worldwide exposure, resulting in leveraging the global visibility of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
In addition, this program responded to SDG’s Goal 4: Quality Education to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
