Having been led by Assoc. Prof. Suvatna Chulavatnatol, Dean, MUPY delegation including executives, faculty members, and students visited Malaysia to attend The 2nd International Conference on Pharmacy Education and Research Network of ASEAN (ASEAN PharmNET 2017) hosted by Faculty of Pharmacy, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Faculty of Pharmacy, Universiti Teknologi Mara, School of Pharmacy, Taylor’s University during November 21-22, 2017 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
With this regard, MUPY’s faculty members were officially invited to be the speakers in the conference as follows:
1) Prof. Leena Suntornsuk gave the lecture entitled ’Determination of amino acid neurotransmitters in brain dialysis samples by CD-modified CE and ME with fluorescence detection’
2) Assoc. Prof. Satit Puttipipatkhachorn gave the lecture entitled ’Freeze-drying Technology for Pharmaceuticals and Biologics’
3) Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan gave the lecture entitled ’Postgraduate Training for Specialization of Pharmacy Practice in Thailand’
4) Assoc. Prof. Mullika Chomnawang gave the lecture entitled ’Multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria in Thailand: Current situation and possible treatment’
5) Assoc. Prof. Usa Chaikledkaew, as an invited plenary speaker, gave the lecture entitled ’Future Challenges of Health Technology Assessment on Policy Decision Making in ASEAN countries: Lesson Learnt from Thailand’
6) Dr. Nattawut Charoenthai gave the lecture entitled ’Application of starch nanocrystals in pulsatile release pellets’
7) Assoc. Prof. Chutima Phechkrajang gave the lecture entitled ’Application of mean centering of ratio spectra based spectrophotometric method for quantitative determination of acetaminophen and chlorzoxazole’
8) Asst. Prof. Krit Thirapanmethee gave the lecture entitled ’Rapid detection of blaCTX-M8 from Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae by loopmediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) method’
9) Asst. Prof. Jiraphun Jittikoon gave the lecture entitled ’Influence of genetic variation in SLCO1B1 gene on drug responsiveness and adverse events in people receiving statins’
In addition, three postgraduate students joined the conference as an oral presenter, five postgraduate students joined the conference as a poster presenter, four 6th-year undergraduate students participated in the conference as a poster presenter, and two 4th-year undergraduate students joined the Student Chapter of the conference. Regarding the next conference organizer, Indonesian institutions have been appointed to host the ASEAN PharmNET conference in the year of 2019 in Indonesia.
