Exchange Students from Showa University’s School of Pharmacy

On Monday, January 13, 2025, from 10.00 A.M. to 12.00 P.M., MUPY's International Relations Unit organized the welcoming and orientation meeting for two exchange students from the School of Pharmacy, Showa University, Japan. Having been held at Room 403, the meeting was attended by Asst. Prof. Jennis Meanwatthana, Deputy Dean for the Doctor of Pharmacy Program (International Program), along with Dr. Pongpol Thanuphol, Assistant Dean for Corporate Communication, who provided a warm welcome to the students.

These two Japanese undergraduate students included 1) Ms. Naoka Tomabechi, and 2) Ms. Mami Watanabe. They visited MUPY to carry out the student exchange program hosted by MUPY during January 13, 2025, to February 7, 2025. The objectives of this student mobility program were to 1) provide the participating students with international exposure and experiences in the field of pharmacy education, the healthcare and pharmacy systems of Thailand, and Thai traditional medicine, 2) increase mutual understanding of the differences in the profession and responsibilities of pharmacists between the two countries, and 3) develop participating students’ English language skill, cross-cultural communication, and interpersonal communication skills. It also aimed to increase academic staff and students' worldwide exposure, resulting in leveraging the global visibility of the Faculty of Pharmacy.

Furthermore, this activity corresponded the Faculty’s mission on terms of serving as the portal for professional services that encompasses drugs, herbal medicine, cosmetics and dietary supplement to support the sustainable development of the nation. It also responded to SDG’s 4th Goal: Quality Education to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, 10th Goal: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and 17th Goal: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership.
