Delegates from Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS)

On December 12, 2024, at 03:00 P.M., the executive members of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, Deputy Dean for Global Partnerships and Corporate Communication extended an official welcome to a delegation from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the People's Republic of China. The delegates were headed by Prof. Hongping He, Vice President of Chinese Academy of Sciences, along with Prof. Weidong Liu, Director General of the Bureau of International Cooperation, totaling 8 delegates from CAS.

Having been arranged at Room 401, the meeting was aimed to 1) explore potential collaborations between the two institutions, 2) discuss shared interests related to academic and research collaborations, and 3) observe MUPY’s learning facilities and research laboratories. After the meeting concluded, the MUPY executives also led the CAS delegates on a tour of the campus’s learning and research facilities, including the Centre of Biopharmaceutical Science for Healthy Ageing (BSHA), MUPY Dermocosmetic Testing Center (DTC), and MUPY Central Research Facility Unit, providing them with a deeper understanding of MUPY’s advancements in teaching and research. This visit helped to highlight the academic strengths of the institution and further strengthened the relationship between the two universities.

Furthermore, this event responded to SDG’s Goal 4: Quality Education to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
