MUPY welcomed representatives from MedResNet and Suntory Beverage & Food Asia Pacific to discuss the development of trilateral research collaboration

On Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 10:30 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., the executive members of Mahidol University's Faculty of Pharmacy (MUPY), led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Wichit Nosoongnoen, Acting Deputy Dean for Research and Innovation, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, Acting Deputy Dean for Global Partnerships and Corporate Communication, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nantana Nuchtavorn, Assistant Dean for Research and Innovation hosted a reception for executives from the Medical Research Network for Social Co., Ltd. (MedResNet). The MedResNet delegation, led by Mr. Pichet Kamolrungsantisuk (Associate Director of MedResNet), was accompanied by executives from Suntory Beverage & Food Asia Pacific, Singapore (Suntory Singapore), to discuss potential research collaborations among the three institutions.

Having been held in Room 409, Rajaratana Building, this on-site meeting focused on exploring opportunities for trilateral research collaboration. The Suntory Singapore team included Ms. Yau Chin Chin (Vice President, Head of Scientific Research) and Dr. Phua Lee Cheng (Senior Manager, Scientific Research). Joining from MedResNet were Ms. Aim-Usa Asu, Ms. Pimnipa Thalengkietsiri, and Ms. Suwichaya Kaewsritong. 

During the meeting, discussions were held with MUPY's research team, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Montarat Thavorncharoensap (Principal Investigator), and the faculty members in the Department of Food Chemistry, focusing on research related to the anti-aging effects of consuming chicken essence. The teams also explored plans for establishing a long-term research collaboration agreement.

Besides, this meeting aligned with the Faculty's mission to be a center of academic services in the fields of medicine, herbal products, cosmetics, and food for sustainable national development. Furthermore, it also supported several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including: Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, and Goal 17: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
