MUPY Dean participated as an speaker in the 33rd Singapore Pharmacy Congress

On Saturday, October 5, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), was invited as a speaker at the 33rd Singapore Pharmacy Congress, held at the Grand Corpthorne Waterfront Hotel, Singapore. He presented on the advancements in the pharmacy profession in Thailand, with a focus on the role of pharmacists in the universal health coverage system, both in healthcare institutions and pharmacies, which have progressed to a leading level in the ASEAN region.

Additionally, Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan was invited to serve as a judge for the oral presentations of academic works submitted by participants from various countries. During the congress, he had the opportunity to discuss and exchange knowledge with leading academic and professional pharmacists from Singapore, including Camila Wong, Chief Pharmacist of the Ministry of Health; Vivianne Shih, President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Singapore; and Giorgia Pastorin, Head of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, National University of Singapore.

Besides, this collaboration also aligned with the Faculty's mission to be a center of academic services in the fields of medicine, herbal products, cosmetics, and food for sustainable national development. Moreover, it also supported the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all; Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries; and Goal 17: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
