On June 15, 2023, at 03:00 p.m., Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University provided a warm welcome for the delegation from the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DnDi) including Dr. Bernard Pecoul, DNDi founder and the Prince Mahidol Awardee in the year of 2020, along with Mr. Jean-Michel Piedagnel, Head of the South-East Asia Office. They had an opportunity to discuss drug development of antiviral therapies for Hepatitis C, allowing Thailand to access to effective medicines at reasonable prices. Furthermore, there were also discussions on the utilization of the platform used to develop new drugs under the Reinventing University Project of Mahidol University.
Besides,, this meeting responded to SDG’s Goal 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages, Goal 10: reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
