MUPY's Doctor of Pharmacy Program is the first in Thailand has earned AUN-QA Certification

On Tuesday, May 30, 2023, MUPY’s executives led by Assoc. Prof Surakit Nathisuwan, the Dean, together with Assoc. Prof. Preecha Montakantikul, the Deputy Dean for Education, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doungdaw Chantasart, the Deputy Dean for Research and Innovation, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Wichit Nosoongnoen, the Deputy Dean for the Doctor of Pharmacy Program (International Program) attended the Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the 303rd ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) Programme Assessment. Having been held at the Prince Mahidol Hall, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus, this official awarding ceremony was physically arranged on the occasion of the Doctor of Pharmacy Program of Mahidol University’s Faculty of Pharmacy has been internationally certified by the AUN-QA standard as the Program has been found to be in accordance with the requirement of the standard details of the AUN-QA. The certification has been valid from December 16, 2022, to December 15, 2027.

Regarding this, the Program Committee including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pramote tragulpiankit, Asst. Prof. Dr. Jaturong Pratuangdejkul and Asst. Prof. Dr. Somying Pumtong also join the awarding ceremony which was presided over by Prof. Banchong Mahaisavariya, M.D., the President of Mahidol University who conveyed a congratulatory speech and presented the certificate to the representatives of 303rd AUN-QA certified programs consisting of 1) the Doctor of Pharmacy Program, Faculty of Pharmacy, 2) the Doctor of Veterinary, Faculty of Veterinary Science, 3) the Bachelor of Engineering Program in Environmental Engineering and Disaster Management, Faculty of Engineering, and, 4) the Master of Nursing Science Program (International Program), Faculty of Nursing.

The AUN-QA assessment will certainly enhance the Faculty’s reputation as well as strengthen its position among pharmacy schools in the ASEAN region. Furthermore, the AUN-QA quality stamp is a quality assurance symbol easily recognized and understood by other HEIs and prospective students in the region. The AUN-QA certification will facilitate the opening of more windows of opportunity for MUPY in terms of internationalization, networking, academic and research collaboration, faculty and student exchange, student internship, and many others. It also heightens our participation in the educational aspect of the ASEAN integration. Besides, the AUN-QA assessment lasts for 5 years, allowing the university to improve its curriculum according to the standard.

This activity also corresponded to the SDG’s Goal 4th: Reduce inequality within and among countries, Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17th: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
