General Information
Department of Pharmacology is responsible for teaching undergraduate pharmacy students (3rd year to 5th year students) in courses such as Pharmacology (I-IV) and Pharmacology Laboratory to equip the students with a strong background in basic pharmacology. In addition, the department also participates in teaching the Clinical Pharmacy and Therapeutics (I-V) courses which are emphasized on the application of basic pharmacology to therapeutic armamentarium. Moreover, all staffs also contribute in teaching other topics related in drug actions and therapeutics in other courses in the Faculty.
The department also offers interdepartment graduate programs including, (1) Master of Science in Pharmacy Program in Pharmacology and Biomolecular Science, (2) Master of Science Program in Biopharmaceutical Sciences, Major in Pharmacology and (3) Doctor of Philosophy Program in Biopharmaceutical Sciences, Major in Pharmacology. These unique curriculums are finely managed by all academic staffs who are expert in such areas. Within the department, there are several areas of expertise which graduate students can select for conducting their research under supervision such as biochemical pharmacology, cardiovascular pharmacology, neuropharmacology, toxicology, clinical pharmacology, etc.
Department of Pharmacology also organizes an annual academic symposium, The Advance in Pharmacology, in order to encourage a new relevant in-depth knowledge in area of pharmacology for healthcare professionals.
