On February 16, 2024, from 09.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m., Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Chaikledkaew, Deputy Dean for International and Public Relations, and Assist. Prof. Dr. Nattawut Charoenthai, Assistant Dean for Professional Affairs, provided a warm welcome for Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seiichi Sakamoto and undergraduate students from Kyushu University’s School of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Having been held at Room 409, the event was also attended by two faculty members including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pakatip Ruenraroengsak and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wanvisa Udomsinprasert. These two faculty members were the students’ advisors and had accepted them to their research laboratories for a research training and practice.
These exchange students came to Thailand and visited MUPY to undertake their international internship under a supervision of those faculty members starting from February 15, 2024 to March 22, 2024. The students included Mr. Tomoki Ota who was under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pakatip Ruenraroengsak at the Department of Pharmacy. The other student, namely Ms. Riko Kawabe, was under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wanvisa Udomsinprasert at the Department of Biochemistry.
This exchange and training program for inbound students aimed to provide foreign students from partner universities with academic and research experiences in specific fields of pharmaceutical sciences, allowing the faculty members and students to share and exchange their experiences, and resulting in increasing international atmosphere and visibility of Mahidol University’s Faculty of Pharmacy. It also determined to strengthen a sustainable relationship between the two institutions. Furthermore, this activity responded to SDG’s Goal 4th: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17th: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
