Visit of National Health Insurance Authority, Nigeria delegates

On July 17, 2023 from 10.00 a.m. - 12.00 p.m., MUPY's executive led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Chaikledkaew, Deputy Dean for International and Public Relations and the Program Director of Mahidol University’s Health Technology Assessment (MUHTA) Graduate Program together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Montarat Thavorncharoensap, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong and postgraduate students in the MUHTA Program provided a warm welcome to the delegates from the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Nigeria.

Having been arranged at Room V401, the meeting was determined to discuss future collaboration between two nations. The Nigerian delegates also visited MUPY to follow up the study progress of Nigerian students who have studied in the MUHTA Graduate Program. Over the 3-day visit during July 17-20, 2023, their visiting program would enhance related experiences regarding the health insurance system and benefit package in Thailand throughout the program including academic lectures and site visiting including the Health Policy Unit of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital and other government agencies to understand the provision of health insurance in Thailand and exchange professional practices with government authorities. In addition, this event also aimed to discuss on the potential development of medical personnel and public health of NHIA, Nigeria.

Futurmore, this activity responded to SDG’s 4th Goal: Reduce inequality within and among countries, 10th Goal: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and 17th Goal: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership
