A survey on the utilization of medicinal plants at Phu Chong-Nayoi, Nachaluai District, Ubon Ratchathani Province was carried out by interviewing herbalists followed by collecting plant specimens and identifying the specimens. In addition, the plant specimens were compared with the authentic specimens at two herbaria: the Bangkok Herbarium, Botany Section, Botany and Weed Science Division, Department of Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives and the Forest Herbarium, National Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Deparment, Ministry of National Resources and Environment. One hundred and fourteen species of medicinal plants belonging to fifty-two families are recorded as medicinal plants and they were belonging to eighty-five dicots, twenty-seven monocots, one gymnosperm and one fern. Forty-five species are newly recorded as medicinal plants and both of these medicinal plants are used with thirty-two combinations with other medicinal plants whereas the other eighty-three species are used as a single remedy.
