Instruction to Authors

Editorial Policy
Manuscripts submitted for publication in this journal must not have been previously published and are not under consideration for publication in any other media. All manuscripts are subjected to double blinded peer-review by at least 2 reviewers which are the experts in the field. Upon the submission, all author(s) shall sign for and accepts responsibility for releasing the article in the Consent to publish and Copyright transfer form. As a result of the technical review process, a manuscript may be accepted without change, recommended for modification and further review, or rejected. Manuscripts are accepted with the understanding that authors have obtained the authority for publication, and they have performed the studies under the rules for animal experiments, clinical studies, and biodiversity rights. If accepted, the manuscript shall not be published elsewhere in the same form, in either the same or another language, without the consent of the Editors and Publisher. Authors are responsible for the scientific accuracy of the papers. The Pharmaceutical Sciences Asia (PSA) assumes no responsibility for conclusions and errors made by authors.



Article Publication Charges (APC)
There are no charges to submit and publish all types of articles in the PSA journal. All articles published in our journal are open access and are freely and widely available to all readers via the journal website.

Types of Manuscript
All types of submission need to include:
- Cover letter
- Title page
- Main manuscript
- Copyright transfer form
- Figure or Table in separate files (if any)

There are 4 types of manuscripts published by the PSA journal.

1. Original Articles Articles are comprehensive accounts of significant experimental of theoretical results. The arrangement of full-length articles should accord with the following:
  1. Title
    The full title is not limited in length but should grab attention and makes the reader interested.
  2. List of Authors (This part should appear only in the title page file)
    All authors should be listed here. Order of full name and last name must be listed as it should be in the final publication. The corresponding author is indicated by a superscript*. Any edit in the name of the author before galley proof such as mistyping, change of order, add or remove name should be informed by the formal letter and signed by all the authors only before galley proof.
  3. Affiliations
    Names and addresses of the establishments where the work was done.
  4. Abstract
    The abstract should include the basic contents of the article. The abstract format is nonstructural type. It should be briefly present (not exceeding 250 words) in one paragraph.
  5. Keywords
    Keywords or short phrases suitable for indexing should be supplied (3-5 keywords). Each keyword is start with a capital letter and is divided by a semi-colon (;).
  6. Text
    The text must be divided into main sections, such as the following: 1. Introduction, 2. Materials and methods, 3. Results, 4. Discussion, 5. Acknowledgements, 6. References.
  7. Figure and Table
    Legends, tables, and footnotes should be typed on separate sheets. Footnotes, to be numbered consecutively in superscript throughout the text, should be used as little as possible. Figures should have a resolution of at least 200 dpi. File size must be less than 2 Mb and be named as Figure number.
  8. References
    See below for full details.

2. Review Articles Review articles provide a summary of topics of general interest to pharmacists and are limited to 6,000 words.

3. Short Communications Communications are preliminary reports limited to approximately 2,000 words including 1-2 table(s)/ figure(s) with not more than 15 references.

4. Letters to the Editor Readers are invited to give an opinion on a scientific or technical subject within the scope of the Journal. If an article published in the Journal is criticized, the authors of the original article will be given an opportunity to reply in the same issue.


References
There are different formats for periodicals, books, etc. Please follow the Vancouver referencing style. Please cite references in the text by superscripted number. At the end of the articles, list the references in the order they appear in the text.

Author: List all authors when there are 6 or fewer. When there are more than 6, list only the first six and add et al.

“Personal Communication” should be cited at the footnote of that page giving information of person’s name, city, country, year.

Example of the required files

Manuscript Submission
Manuscripts must be typed, double-spaced, using Times New Roman font size 12. All pages should be numbered sequentially including line numbers. To avoid the fast rejection, the manuscript must be strictly prepared in the template format. The cover letter states the highlight or novelty of their findings and the Consent to publish and Copyright transfer Form must be submitted along with the manuscript.

The corresponding author should submit their manuscripts online only at http://www.pharmacy.mahidol.ac.th/journal/.

Electronic submission substantially reduces the editorial processing and reviewing times as well as shortens overall publication times. Please follow the hyperlink Submit online on the right and upload all of your manuscript files following the instructions given on the screen.
