MUPY held a Joint Seminar on Pharmaceutical Research with Graduate Schools of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chiba University. The seminar was held on Tuesday 9 March 2010 at Room 207, Ratcharat Building.
The relationship between MUPY and Chiba University can be dated back since 1988 when Assoc. Prof. Satit Puttipipatkhachorn was enrolled in a PhD program in Pharmaceutical Technology under the supervision of Prof. Yoshinobu Nakai and Assoc. Prof. Keiji Yamamoto. Mahidol University’s administration at that time under the leadership of Assoc. Prof. Jantra Chaipanich and Prof. Narong Sarisuta, has furthered enhanced the relationship between the two sides by establishing an official MOU and initiated staff and student exchange program through fundings from Core University Exchange Program supported by Japan Society for Promotion of Sciences (JSPS) and National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT). With this initiative, a number of our staff and students were blessed with opportunity for research and academic experience that plays an important role in the growth of our faculty. Throughout the past 20 years, we can characterize this relationship as a very fruitful and successful relationship that shows considerable strength and growth. Initially, the relationship started with only one department, later, the relationship starts to expand to various areas such as the bilateral exchange between the Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chiba University and the Department of Pharmaceutical Botany, Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University. Other notable relationships are from the Department of Microbiology and Department of Physiology and so on.
For the seminar, speakers from Chiba University included Assoc. Prof. Kunikazu Moribe, Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Technology, Assoc. Prof. Hiromichi Fujino, Laboratory of Chemical Pharmacology, Ms. Kinuyo Tainaka, Laboratory of Clinical and Analytical Biochemistry, Ms. Tomomi Iseki, Laboratory of Clinical and Analytical Biochemistry, Mr. Atsushi Nakayama, Laboratory of Biofunctional Molecular Chemistry, Mr. Yuta Ikawa, Laboratory of Chemical Pharmacology, Ms. Rei Miyamoto, Laboratory of Molecular Imaging and Radiotherapy.
