MoU with Indonesian Universities to promote academic exchange and cooperation

On March 5, 2024, from 02.00 p.m. to 05.00 p.m., the executives the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY) led by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, the Dean, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Chaikledkaew, the Deputy Dean for International and Public Relations, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luerat Anuratpanich, the Deputy Dean for Student Affairs, Assist. Prof. Dr. Pattamapan Lomarat, the Deputy Dean for Planning and Quality Development, and Assist. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, the Program Director of the Social, Economic and Administrative Pharmacy Program, provided a warm welcome to Indonesian delegation led by Prof. Dr. Daryono Hadi Tjahjono, the President of the Asian Association of Schools of Pharmacy (AASP), along with Prof. Dr. Yandi Syukri, the President of the Association of Indonesian Pharmacy Higher Education (AIPHE) and the Deans or Executives of 42 Indonesian universities under AIPHE. 

They visited MUPY to attend the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University and the Faculties/Schools/Departments of Pharmacy of Indonesian Universities, Indonesia. After the meeting, the visitors had a chance to visit MUPY’s service centers and research facilities including the Centre of Biopharmaceutical Science for Healthy Ageing (BSHA), the Centre of Molecular Targeting and Integrated Drug Development (CMT-IDD), and MUPY's Dermocosmetic Testing Center.

The MoU on Academic Collaboration mentioned above had a duration in 5 years from March 5, 2024 to March 4, 2029. It was determined to promote academic exchange and cooperation in pharmaceutical education, pharmaceutical sciences, educational exchange, scientific research, and technology transfer on the basis of equality and reciprocity, and to promote relations and mutual understanding between the institutes. This collaboration consisted of (1) exchanging of faculty members, researchers and students at all levels, (2) producing collaborative research and academic publication, and (3) organizing seminars and international academic conferences, etc. Furthermore, this collaboration supported the Sustainable Development Goals' 4th: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17th: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
