On Monday, July 3, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., Mahidol University’s Faculty of Pharmacy (MUPY) by its International Relations Office held an orientation meeting for 13 Vietnamese exchange students from Hanoi University of Pharmacy (HUP), Vietnam. Having been held at Room 409, the event was attended by MUPY's executives led by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisawan, the Dean and Assoc. Prof. Usa Chaikledkaew, the Deputy Dean for International and Public Relations together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Fahsai Chanjaruporn, and Dr. Amporn Songkasiri. The faculty members provided a warm welcoming speech to these exchange students whose names included 1) DANG Nguyet Ha 2) TRAN Hai Linh 3) VU Anh My 4) NGUYEN Hoang Bao Ngoc 5) MAI Diep Anh 6) VU Minh Chau 7) TRAN Thi Cat Khanh 8) LE Minh Khoi 9) PHUNG Ngoc Mai 10) THAI Chinh Tam 11) HOANG Anh Tu 12) NGUYEN Dang Duy, and 13) TRAN Hoang Lan. HUP students visited MUPY to participate in the 2023 Student Mobility Program which is focusing on the Thai pharmacy system as well as cultural experiences at MUPY and external training sites during July 2 - 22, 2023.
The objectives of this student mobility program were to 1) provide the participating students with international exposure and experiences in the field of pharmacy education, the healthcare and pharmacy systems of Thailand, and Thai traditional medicine, 2) increase mutual understanding of the differences in the profession and responsibilities of pharmacists between the two countries, and 3) develop participating students’ English language skill, cross-cultural communication, and interpersonal communication skills. It also aimed to increase academic staff and students' worldwide exposure, resulting in leveraging the global visibility of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
Furthermore, this online activity responded to SDG’s Goal 4: Quality Education to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
