MUPY faculty members joined an international webinar entitled ’Systematic Review and Meta Analysis in Pharmacy Practice: A Step by Step Guide’

On Tuesday, June 23, 2020, during 01.00-03.30 pm., MUPY faculty members, namely Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arthorn Riewpaiboon and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Montarat Thavorncharoensap, officially joined an international webinar as the invited panelists. Having been entitled ’Systematic Review and Meta Analysis in Pharmacy Practice: A Step by Step Guide’ and broadcasted via the Zoom meeting system, this collaborative webinar was globally arranged by Gadjah Mada University’s Faculty of Pharmacy in collaboration with Mahidol University’s Faculty of Pharmacy. Regarding this, Prof. Dr. Agung Endro Nugroho, the Dean of UGM’s Faculty of Pharmacy, presided over and gave an opening remark to more than 500 audiences who came to digitally participate in the online webinar which Dr. Susi Ari Kristina also joined as a moderator in the discussion session. The topics of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arthorn Riewpaiboon included 1) Introduction to a systematic review in the social pharmacy field, 2) Formulate the problem and systematic literature searching, 3) Perform searching technique, including reference management software, and 4) Applying PRISMA diagram for study selection. In contrast, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Montarat Thavorncharoensap delivered the following topics: 1) Systematic reviews and meta-analysis of trials and intervention studies, 2) Tailored data extraction electronically, 3) Critical appraisal of studies, 4) Data synthesis, including narrative and meta-analysis, and 5) Presenting results and writing the report.
