MUPY staff joined UiTM’s Virtual Summer School Program 2021

On September 7, 2021, from 01.00 p.m. to 03.00 p.m., Assoc. Prof. Dr. Savita Chewchinda, a faculty member in Food Chemistry Department, joined a clip recording as an invited speaker for her lecture topic entitled ’The study of antioxidant and hypoglycemic effects of Maclura cochinchinensis heartwood extract and its nutraceutical product development ’ under the session ’Traditional Preparation: Experience from Thailand’. This online filming was conducted on the Google Meet platform. Her lecture was a part of the lecture series in the Virtual Summer School Program 2021 organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia. UiTM’s Virtual Summer School Program 2021 was scheduled for September 10-20, 2021, and was broadcasted via the online platform. The theme was “Heritage of Medicine”. This virtual activity served as a student exchange program with the aim of promoting international learning on medicinal plants from overseas guest lecturers. The participating students also had a chance to learn about how to use herbal medicines in healthcare practices. In addition, this activity responded to SDG’s Goal 4: Quality Education to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, and Goal 17: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
