MUPY Welcomes the Delegate from Shinshu University to Advance Academic and Research Collaborations

On Wednesday, July 1st, 2026, from 09:00 am to 04:00 pm, the executives of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, Deputy Dean for Global Partnerships and Corporate Communication, officially welcomed Professor Dr. Toshio Sakai from the Faculty of Engineering, Shinshu University, Japan. The distinguished guest was warmly received at the Phayathai Campus in Bangkok, with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jiraporn Leanpolchareanchai from the Department of Pharmacy serving as the official host for this significant international visit.

The primary objectives of this official visit were to supervise Mr. Shunsuke Suzumori, a postgraduate student from Shinshu University currently conducting research at MUPY’s Department of Pharmacy, and to engage in high-level discussions regarding potential academic and research collaborations. On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jiraporn Leanpolchareanchai accompanied Professor Dr. Toshio Sakai on a visit to the Department of Medical Entomology, Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, to supervise and monitor the research practicum of Mr. Shunsuke Suzumori. During the session, the executives and faculty members actively explored mutual interests and strategic pathways to foster sustainable global partnerships, promoting an inspiring environment for international knowledge sharing and future joint initiatives.

This successful visit is expected to significantly enhance international academic mobility and drive joint research initiatives between Mahidol University and Shinshu University. Furthermore, this initiative directly aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4: Quality Education by supporting high-level postgraduate supervision and global knowledge exchanges, as well as SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by strengthening international academic cooperation and building sustainable networks between leading global institutions.
