MUPY joined the 1st Franco-Thai Seminar on Phytocosmeceutical Research and Applications

On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, from 01.40 p.m. - 05.00 p.m. (Bangkok time), MUPY’s executives led by the Dean, Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, together with faculty members attended the 1st Franco-Thai Seminar on Phytocosmeceutical Research and Applications. Having been organized via the Zoom Meeting platform, the conference was arranged by the Cosmetosciences ARD CVL Programme and the French Embassy in Thailand - Campus France Programme. Regarding this, three faculty members participated in this virtual conference as invited speakers through its three main sessions as follows. 1) Asst. Prof. Dr. Bhanubong Bongcheewin gave a lecture entitled ’The Mint family (Lamiaceae) in Thailand- A potential material source for phytocosmeceutical application’. 2) Asst. Prof. Dr. Duangjai Tungmunnithum gave a lecture entitled ’Natural Plant Diversity: A Potential Source of Raw Materials for Phytocosmeceutical Research and Applications’. 3) Asst. Prof. Dr. Veerawat Teeranachaideekul gave a lecture entitled ’Transfersomes for topical delivery of herbal extracts’. This event aimed to bring together French and Thai researchers with common interests in natural botanical sourcing, phytochemistry, including green extraction and analytical methodologies, evaluation of biological activity and formulation, and interface disciplines applied to phytocosmeceutical research and applications. This was a unique opportunity to present, share, and discuss scientific results and scientific skills, while also stimulating cooperation between laboratories in both countries through the Le Studium actions (fellowship, experts’ visits, Consortium networking meeting), the CosmetoSciences and Campus France Franco-Thai mobility programmes. Besides, this international conference responded to SDG’s Goal 4: Reduce inequality within and among countries, 10th Goal: Reduce inequality within and among countries, Goal 15:Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss, and Goal 17: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
