Seminar on the topic of ’Gotu Kola, Salaya 1’

On December 16, 2021, from 10.00 a.m. - 12.00 p.m., the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University in collaboration with the Chaophraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital Foundation organized an academic seminar on the topic of ’Gotu Kola, Salaya 1’. The seminar was simultaneously arranged at the Faculty of Pharmacy’s conference room as well as live-streamed via the YouTube Channel. In this regard, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, presided over the opening session and delivered the opening speech to the audience including entrepreneurs, farmers, private sectors, and mass media. This seminar consisted of a series of lectures focusing on the discovery of new species of Gotu Kola called ’Gotu Kola, Salaya 1’ from four scholars and experts. This event aimed to disseminate the knowledge of new species of Gotu Kola and the research findings to the public. It also enhanced the economic potential of this plant to farmers, public sectors, and those who were interested in this plant. Besides, this seminar aimed to serve the Faculty’s mission in terms of being the portal for professional services that encompasses drugs, herbal medicine, cosmetics and dietary supplement to support the sustainable development of the nation. This event also promoted the SDGs’ goal including the 3rd Goal: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages, 8th Goal: Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all, 9th Goal: Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation, and the 10th Goal: Reduce inequality within and among countries.
