From June 8, 2026, to September 4, 2026, the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), provided support and sponsorship for Mr. Pawaris Chinaphan, a 6th-year undergraduate pharmacy student, to participate in an overseas professional internship program for the 2026 academic year. The internship took place at the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kyushu University, Japan, where Mr. Chinaphan conducted advanced research in the Laboratory of Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of Novel Compounds, under the academic supervision and guidance of Professor Dr. Martinez Caaveiro Jose Manuel.
The primary objective of this international internship was to empower the final-year undergraduate student to gain enriching academic and professional experience on a global scale through specialized study, training, and laboratory research at a partner institution abroad. This initiative aimed to enhance academic competency and pharmaceutical expertise, sharpen English communication skills, foster cultural adaptability and global citizenship, as well as cultivate strong academic networks and long-term relationships between faculty members and students across international borders.
The successful completion of this internship not only deepened the student's expertise in medicinal chemistry synthesis and pharmaceutical research, preparing him to step forward as a global citizen, but also marked a significant step in strengthening academic partnerships between the two renowned institutions. Furthermore, this initiative directly aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4: Quality Education, by advancing higher education and high-level professional skills development, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by building sustainable international academic collaborations and fostering global knowledge exchange in science and technology.
