On Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), led by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, the Dean, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Brompoj Prutthiwanasan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wichit Nosoongnoen, Asst. Prof. Dr. Wipharak Rattanavipanon, and Dr. Pongpol Thanuphol, welcomed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shin-Yi Lin and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yen-Ming Huang from the School of Pharmacy, National Taiwan University (NTU), Taiwan, for an official visit aimed at strengthening academic collaboration and expanding international partnerships between the two institutions. The welcoming session was held in Room 612 of the Rajaratana Building.
On this occasion, the representatives highlighted MUPY's academic excellence, research achievements, and international engagement, providing an overview of the Faculty's educational programs, research strengths, and global collaborations. The meeting continued with a round-table discussion focusing on prospective collaboration in pharmacy education, research, faculty and student mobility, and professional development. The meeting provided a valuable platform for both institutions to exchange perspectives, share best practices, and explore opportunities for long-term collaboration. The discussions reflected the shared vision of MUPY and NTU to strengthen academic cooperation and foster innovation through international partnership.
Following the meeting, the NTU delegation visited the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital and the Somdech Phra Debaratana Medical Center (SDMC). The site visit offered valuable insights into Thailand's healthcare system, clinical pharmacy services, and clinical education environment, further enriching the delegates' understanding of Mahidol University's integrated approach to pharmacy education and healthcare practice.
The visit reaffirmed the shared commitment of MUPY and NTU to advancing excellence in pharmacy education, research, and international collaboration while creating broader opportunities for faculty and student mobility. It also laid a strong foundation for future joint initiatives that will further strengthen the longstanding partnership between the two institutions. Furthermore, the activity supported the Faculty's missions to enhance the quality of pharmacy education, foster internationally recognized research and innovation, and strengthen global academic partnerships. It also contributed to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education through international academic exchange and capacity building, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure by promoting collaborative research and innovation, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by strengthening strategic partnerships between leading higher education institutions.
