MUPY Welcomed NYCU Delegation to Advance International Academic and Research Collaboration

On Monday, July 13, 2026, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wichit Nosoongnoen, Deputy Dean for Research and Innovation, warmly welcomed a delegation from the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), Taiwan, at Room 606, Rajaratana Building. The delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Chi-Ying Huang, Dean of the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and included Prof. Dr. Wen-Chien Lee, Professor Emeritus, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Hsiu-Jung Liao, Researcher. Also participating in the meeting were the Faculty's executive members and academic staff. The visit was organized to strengthen institutional partnerships and explore new opportunities for academic and research collaboration between the two institutions.
During the meeting, both institutions engaged in productive discussions on prospective collaborative initiatives, beginning with a presentation by Prof. Dr. Chi-Ying Huang on potential joint research in the field of extracellular vesicles. The program continued with a round-table discussion focusing on future cooperation in education, research, faculty and student mobility, and professional development. To showcase MUPY's research capabilities and innovation ecosystem, the NYCU delegation also visited several key research facilities, including the Pharmacometrics Center, the Central Research Facilities Unit, and the Center for Research on Extemporaneous Compounding and Pharmaceutical Technology Innovation (CEPTEC). The visit provided an excellent platform for exchanging expertise and identifying future collaborative opportunities that would benefit both institutions.
The visit marked another important milestone in the Faculty's internationalization efforts and reaffirmed MUPY's commitment to fostering strategic partnerships with leading global institutions. The discussions are expected to pave the way for collaborative research projects, academic exchange programs, and professional development initiatives that will enhance educational excellence and research impact. This activity directly supports the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University's missions to produce graduates of international quality (Mission 1) through expanded global academic opportunities and to produce research and innovation that meets national and international standards (Mission 2) through collaborative research partnerships. Furthermore, the initiative contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting international academic cooperation and student and faculty mobility, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, through collaborative pharmaceutical research and innovation, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by strengthening international partnerships to advance higher education, scientific research, and sustainable development.
