MUPY Welcomed ITB Delegation to Strengthen Academic and Research Collaboration

On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), welcomed a delegation from the School of Pharmacy, Bandung Institute of Technology (Institut Teknologi Bandung: ITB), Indonesia, for an official visit and discussions on future academic and research collaboration at Room 606, Rajaratana Building. The meeting was led by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University, who delivered the welcoming remarks. Also welcoming the delegation were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, Deputy Dean for Global Partnerships and Corporate Communication, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Satsawat Visansirikul, Assistant Dean for General Administration. The ITB delegation was led by Prof. apt. Diky Mudhakir, Ph.D., Dean of the School of Pharmacy, and included Dr. apt. Rika Hartati, M.Si., Vice Dean for Resources; Dr. apt. Amirah Adlia, Head of the Center of Excellence for Innovative Cosmeceuticals and Natural Medicines for Degenerative Diseases; and Dr. apt. Ratna Annisa Utami, Coordinator of Partnership, ITB Center for Pharma Valorisation. 

The visit provided an opportunity for both institutions to exchange perspectives and explore collaborative initiatives in pharmaceutical education, research, faculty and student mobility, and professional development. Discussions focused on potential areas of cooperation, including undergraduate and postgraduate student exchanges, internship and professional training programs, faculty and researcher exchanges, joint lectures and academic activities, collaborative research projects, technology transfer, academic resource sharing, and participation in international conferences, seminars, and workshops. Particular emphasis was placed on exploring future collaboration in cosmeceuticals and natural products research for degenerative diseases. 

Following the discussion, the delegation toured the Faculty’s campus and visited MUPY’s Dermocosmetic Testing Center, research centers, and core research facilities to exchange knowledge, showcase research capabilities, and identify potential opportunities for future collaboration.

The official visit marked another significant step in strengthening the longstanding partnership between the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University and Bandung Institute of Technology. The discussions are expected to pave the way for future collaborative initiatives in education, research, innovation, and academic exchange while fostering sustainable global partnerships between the two institutions. This engagement also supports the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University’s missions by promoting international academic excellence, advancing high-quality research and innovation, and expanding collaborative professional services in pharmaceutical sciences and cosmeceuticals. Furthermore, the visit contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through international collaboration in education, research, innovation, and capacity building.
