 Head of International Relations Strengthens International Collaboration through Study Visit and Knowledge Exchange at Meiji Pharmaceutical University, Japan

From April 13 to 24, 2026, Dr. Amporn Songkasiri, Head of the Global Partnership and Corporate Communication Unit, Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University, undertook a professional practice visit and engaged in knowledge and experience exchange at Meiji Pharmaceutical University (MPU), Japan. The visit focused on pharmacy education in Japan, international professional training, and strategic approaches to advancing and promoting internationalization.

On the morning of April 13, 2026, Dr. Amporn Songkasiri met with Prof. Dr. Hirotoshi Echizen, President of MPU, together with Prof. Dr. Kazuhiro Higuchi and Prof. Dr. Ryoko Sakai, members of the International Exchange Committee of MPU. MPU has been one of the Faculty’s key partner universities for over 15 years, with continuous collaboration in staff and student exchanges, as well as academic cooperation.

During the visit, Dr. Amporn Songkasiri shared insights into pharmacy education in Thailand, along with the Faculty’s operational framework and internationalization strategies. He also gained valuable perspectives on MPU’s academic programs, institutional management, and internationalization initiatives. In addition, he hosted a workshop for MPU students to help them develop the appropriate mindset and cultural awareness for studying abroad at partner institutions.

This study visit and knowledge exchange was a part of the “Individual Development Plan (IDP): Global Talent” initiative by Mahidol University, which aims to enhance the capacity of high-potential support staff. The international engagement not only strengthened professional competencies but also contributed to advancing the Faculty’s mission to expand global partnerships. Furthermore, it supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
