On Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 09:00 AM to 04:30 PM (local time in Japan), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, Deputy Dean for Global Partnerships and Corporate Communication, conducted a significant Courtesy Visit to Meiji Pharmaceutical University (MPU) in Tokyo, Japan. The Deputy Dean was warmly received by Prof. Dr. Hirotoshi Echizen, MPU President, along with Prof. Dr. Manabu Akazawa and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kazuhiro Higuchi, marking a moment of mutual respect and high-level institutional engagement. The visit centered on an intensive discussion aimed at exploring and consolidating potential collaborations in academic and research between the two institutions. The agenda also included a comprehensive campus visit, which provided the delegation with valuable insights into MPU’s state-of-the-art facilities and academic environment. This engagement was a strategic step taken to strengthen academic ties and explore joint research opportunities, paving the way for future collaborative projects. The meeting involved key executives from both universities, focusing on high-level strategic planning.

The fruitful discussion and exchange of perspectives are anticipated to result in tangible expected outcomes, including the establishment of a formal framework for joint academic programmes, student and staff mobility, and collaborative research initiatives. Such partnerships are vital for advancing pharmaceutical education and research on a global scale. This activity directly contributes to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by fostering effective public-public cooperation to support the achievement of the SDGs. Furthermore, the focus on academic and research collaboration aligns with SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure by promoting quality education and building resilient infrastructure and fostering innovation.
