MUPY hosted Orientation for Exchange Students from University of Southern California, USA

On Monday, September 29, 2025, at 10:30 AM, the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), through its International Relations Unit, organized an orientation for exchange students from the Alfred E. Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Southern California (USC), USA. The session was presided over by Asst. Prof. Dr. Jennis Meanwatthana, Deputy Dean for the Doctor of Pharmacy Program (International Program), together with Asst. Prof. Sayamon Sukkha, Assistant Dean for Professional Affairs, and Dr. Pongpol Thanuphol, Assistant Dean for Corporate Communication, who extended a warm welcome at Room 404, Rajaratana Building.

The two USC students, Mr. Evan Makhani and Ms. Minh Gia Le, are taking part in the Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) Rotation from September 29 to November 7, 2025. Their training, supervised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Jennis Meanwatthana and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sayamol Sukkha, will be conducted at the Faculty of Pharmacy and its affiliated practice sites, including 1) Ramathibodi Hospital, 2) Boots Pharmacy, 3) Chao Phraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital, and 4) Roen-ya Pharmacy.

This program aims to provide students with hands-on learning experiences in clinical pharmacy at hospitals and healthcare facilities both in Bangkok and upcountry. It also offers opportunities to explore Thailand’s healthcare system, pharmacy services, and the professional roles of pharmacists, while enhancing their academic capacity, social skills, and global citizenship as a foundation for their future careers. It also determined to strengthen a sustainable relationship between two institutions.

This initiative supports the Faculty’s mission to serve as a center of academic excellence in pharmaceuticals, herbal medicines, cosmetics, and food, contributing to sustainable national development. It also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by fostering international collaboration, addressing educational disparities, and promoting the global advancement of pharmacy education.
