MUPY welcomed SMBT College of Pharmacy delegation for academic exchange and collaboration

On Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 01:30 P.M., MUPY's executives led by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, the Dean, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, Deputy Dean for Global Partnerships and Corporate Communication, Dr. Pongpol Thanuphol, Assistant Dean for Corporate Communication, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Amaraporn Wongrakpanich, Deputy Head of the Department of Pharmacy, Asst. Prof. Dr. Boontida Morakul, and Dr. Thongtham Suksawat, Lecturer at MUPY’s International Pharmacy School, provided a warm welcome for the delegation from SMBT College of Pharmacy, India. The meeting was held at room 409, Rajaratana Building.

The delegation was led by Mr. Kundan J. Tiwari, Head of Department, along with six SMBT students. The purpose of the visit was to explore areas of mutual interest and discuss potential future collaborations between the two institutions, student exchange programs, collaborative research projects, and co-hosted academic events.

During the visit, the SMBT students had the opportunity to present their research studies to MUPY’s faculty members, receiving valuable feedback and suggestions to further enhance their work. The research topics presented included the following:

  1. “Ethnobotanical, Phytochemical Evaluation of some regional plants” by Mr. Kundan J. Tiwari
  2. “PediaTemp Patch: Development of a Thermo-Responsive Dissolving Patch for Pediatric Fever Management” by Ms. Chetana Krushna Belkare
  3. “Integrating Patient Feedback into Healthcare Innovation: A Pathway to Patient-Centered Care” by Mr. Omkar Vishnu Daware
  4. “Development of a Novel Topical Melanoma Therapy: Hydrogel Formulation of Adansonia Digitata Compounds and Antibody-Drug Conjugates using Nanopore Sequencing Technology for Enhanced Efficacy” by Ms. Sanskruti Satish Shinde
  5. “Harnessing the Power of Nature: Investigating the Synergistic Anticancer Effects of Herbal Extracts on Cancer Cell Lines” by Ms. Sejal Samir Dhobale
  6. “Development of Herbal Powder Handwash” by Ms. Sneha S. Gawali
  7. “Development of a Nutraceutical Tablet for prevention of thrombocytopenia” by Ms. Pranjali Dnyaneshwar Gadhave

After the meeting, the delegation had a chance to visit the MUPY's learning and research facilities as well.  Furthermore, this activity also responded to SDG’s 4th Goal: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, 10th Goal: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and 17th Goal: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership.
