MUPY Executive visited strategic partner universities in the United Kingdom

From February 24 to 28, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, Deputy Dean for Global Partnerships and Corporate Communication of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University, participated in an official visit alongside a delegation led by Professor Dr. Piyamitr Sritara, President of Mahidol University, and other executives from various faculties under Mahidol University. This visit, organized by Mahidol University Global Partnership Division, aimed to foster academic collaboration with strategic partner universities in the United Kingdom. The delegation visited five leading higher education institutions as follows:

  • Monday, February 24, 2025: Visit to the University of Reading
  • Tuesday, February 25, 2025: Visit to the University of Sussex
  • Wednesday, February 26, 2025: Visit to Newcastle University
  • Thursday, February 27, 2025: Visit to the University of York
  • Friday, February 28, 2025: Visit to the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine

This visit aimed to strengthen relationships between Mahidol University and its strategic partner institutions in the UK, reinforcing existing academic collaborations while exploring new opportunities for sustainable research and academic development. Additionally, discussions during the visits focused on academic and research collaborations in relevant fields, as well as exchanges on sustainability initiatives aligned with the university’s mission. Key topics included advancements in interdisciplinary research, innovations across multiple academic disciplines, and the implementation of sustainability strategies within higher education institutions. These initiatives serve as crucial steps toward advancing international partnerships and fostering long-term academic and research excellence.

The Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University, remained committed to strengthening academic collaborations with leading universities worldwide to enhance the capabilities of students, faculty members, and staff, thereby fostering knowledge and innovation in pharmaceutical sciences that would benefit Thai society and the global community. Furthermore, this visiting program aligned with the Faculty’s vision: To be a pharmaceutical academic institution that meets international standard and contributes to the development of sustainable society. It also responded to SDG’s Goal 4: Quality Education to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
