On January 8, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M., Mahidol University’s Faculty of Pharmacy (MUPY) hosted Dr. Praveen Thokala from the Division of Population Health, University of Sheffield, United Kingdom. Dr. Thokala was welcomed by MUPY’s executives, led by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, Dean, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, Deputy Dean for Global Partnerships and Corporate Communication. Joining the discussions were faculty members from Mahidol University’s Health Technology Assessment (MUHTA) Graduate Program, including Prof. Dr. Ammarin Thakkinstian, Assoc. Prof. Usa Chaikedkleaw, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Montarat Thavorncharoensap.
The meeting focused on exploring potential research collaborations and discussing the conceptual framework for the research project titled “One Health Approach to Prioritising Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Research.” This visit marked a significant step towards strengthening research ties and advancing collaborative efforts in tackling global health challenges. Furthermore, this meeting responded to SDG’s Goal 4: Quality Education to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
