On Thursday, November 28, 2024, from 01:00 P.M. to 02:30 P.M., the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), hosted a special lecture organized by its International Relations Office in collaboration with the Department of Pharmacology. The lecture, entitled “Application of Mouse Cancer Models for Translational Research”, was delivered by Prof. Seiji Okada, an invited speaker from the Division of Hematopoiesis, Joint Research Center for Human Retrovirus Infection, and the Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Kumamoto University, Japan.
Before the lecture, Prof. Seiji Okada was warmly welcomed by MUPY’s executive team, led by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, the Dean, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, Deputy Dean for Global Partnerships and Corporate Communication. The warm welcome was joined by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vilasinee Hirunpanich Sato, Head of the Department of Pharmacology, Prof. Dr. Hitoshi Sato, MUPY's adjunct professor, along with Lect. Kodcharat Cheevapruk as an event's coordinator. The event attracted faculty members, researchers, and graduate students, a total of 13 audiences, fostering an engaging exchange of ideas and encouraging academic dialogue and collaboration.
After the special lecture, Professor Seiji Okada also had the chance to visit the Faculty of Pharmacy's research centers and service centers including Centre of Biopharmaceutical Science for Healthy Ageing (BSHA), Centre of Molecular Targeting and Integrated Drug Development (CMT-IDD), MUPY's Central Research Facility Unit, and the Faculty's Drugstore. providing opportunities for knowledge exchange and future collaboration.
Furthermore, this activity responded to SDG’s Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, and Goal 10: reduce inequality within and among countries, 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
