On Monday, September 16, 2024, from 10.00 A.M. to 12.00 P.M., MUPY’s International Relations Unit arranged an orientation session under the Clinical Pharmacy Professional Practice and Rotation Program for Mr. Andrew Philip Rader from the College of Pharmacy, University of Kentucky, USA. Having been held at Room 403, the orientation was attended by Assoc. Prof. Thanarat Suansanae, lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy, and Assist. Prof. Jennis Meanwatthana, lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy.
This orientation meeting aimed to prepare the exchange student to be ready for his professional practice at the training sites. The training program was scheduled from September 16, 2024 to October 25, 2024, at the training sites under the Faculty’s network. The apprentice sites included 1) Phonprasit Pharmacy 2) Ramathibodi Hospital 3) Roen Ya Drugstore 4) Chulabhorn Hospital 5) Chao Phraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital 6) Public Health Service Center 51 (Chatuchak), Bangkok.
This Clinical Pharmacy Professional Practice and Rotation Program was organized with the aims of providing foreign students from partner universities with academic and professional experiences in specific fields of clinical pharmacy, allowing the faculty members, registered pharmacists, and exchange students to share and exchange their experiences, and resulting in increasing international atmosphere and visibility of Mahidol University’s Faculty of Pharmacy and affiliated training sites. It also determined to strengthen a sustainable relationship between two institutions.
Furthermore, this activity contributed to MUPY’s Vision and Mission to be a pharmaceutical academic institution that meets international standard and contributes to the development of sustainable society, and to serve as the portal for professional services that encompasses drugs, herbal medicine, cosmetics and dietary supplement to support the sustainable development of the nation. It also responded to SDG’s Goal 4th: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, Goal 10th: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17th: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
