On Tuesday, March 19, 2024, from 09:30 AM to 12:00 PM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Montarat Thavorncharoensap, a faculty member in the Department of Pharmacy, received the "Nagai Award Thailand 2023" in the field of Pharmacy Practice/Social Administrative Pharmacy. This event was part of the 39th International Annual Meeting in Pharmaceutical Sciences (IAMPS39), where Professor Phornong Aramwit, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chulalongkorn University, presented the Award. The ceremony took place at the Amari Hotel, Bangkok. Professor Tsuneji Nagai, President of the Nagai Foundation, also honored the event by joining online.
During the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Montarat Thavorncharoensap also delivered a lecture on the research that won the Nagai Award, titled "Comparative efficacy and safety of pharmacologic interventions to prevent mother-to-child transmission of hepatitis B virus: a systematic review and network meta-analysis," which was published in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2022. This journal is internationally ranked among the Top 1% of global journals. Her research has a global impact on shaping treatment guidelines for preventing the transmission of hepatitis B virus, which affects over 2 billion people worldwide.
In addition, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duangdao Chantasart, Deputy Dean for Research and Innovation, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pramote Trakulpeirikit, Head of the Department of Pharmacy, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phakathip Ruenrarenksak also attended the event and present a congratulatory bouquet to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Montarat Thavorncharoensap.
The "Nagai Award Thailand 2023" was organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy, Chulalongkorn University, and initiated by Professor Tsuneji Nagai, President of the Nagai Foundation. It is a prestigious award recognizing research excellence in the field of pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences. Receiving this award supports the faculty’s mission to produce and disseminate research and innovations that meet national and international standards.
