On November 9, 2023, the faculty members of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), including Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, MUPY's Dean, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arthorn Riewpaiboon, the Dean's Advisor, participated in the Asian Federation for Pharmaceutical Sciences 2023 (AFPS Conference 2023) hosted by Hanoi University of Pharmacy in collaboration with its academic partners. Having been held during November 8-10, 2023, the AFPS Conference 2023 was organized with the theme “Collaboration for Breakthroughs in Pharmaceutical Sciences” at the Foreign Relations Hotel in Hanoi City, Vietnam.
In the conference, Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan had been invited to be its International Organization Committee and was the invited speaker to deliver on the topic of “Clinical Pharmacy Movement in Thailand: Past, Present and Future”. He also took part as the Chairperson in the Parallel Session in the area of Clinical Pharmacy & Pharmacoepidemiology via the online platform. Moreover, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arthorn Riewpaiboon joined the conference at the Hotel and delivered on the topic of “Application of Pharmacoeconomics in the Development of the National List of Essential Medicines in Thailand" in this hybrid conference. He also took part as the Chairperson in the Parallel Session in the area of Regulatory science & Pharmacoeconomics at the conference venue.
In addition, prior to the conference dates, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arthorn Riewpaiboon joined a site visit hosted by Hanoi University of Pharmacy. The visit was arranged for the conference's invited speakers to explore the clinical pharmacy practices at 108 Military Hospital and St. Paul Hospital.
The AFPS Conference 2023 was held with the aim of providing a platform for international professionals, academics, researchers, and students in the fields of pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, and biological sciences with plenary talks and invited speakers, scientific sessions, and poster presentations. Consequently, the conference's participants had an opportunity to share and update scientific knowledge as well as to establish networking for future collaboration not only in Asia but also globally. The Conference consisted of a Keynote Speech, Parallel Presentations showcasing the latest research in the field of pharmaceutical sciences and education, satellite conferences, International Exhibition on medical and pharmaceutical products, and stakeholder meetings.
