On December 2, 2022, Mahidol University’s graduate students in ’Health Technology Assessment Program’ (HTA) and ’Social, Economic and Administrative Pharmacy Program’ (SEAP) received research presentation awards in The 10th HTAsiaLink Conference 2022 hosted by the Health Intervention and Technology Assessment Program (HITAP), a semi-autonomous research unit under Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health, from November 30, 2022 to December 2, 2022, at Pattaya’s Royal Cliff Grand Hotel in Chonburi province. The awardees are as follows. 1) Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ha, a doctoral degree student in HTA Program, received the 1st prize of the Best Poster Presentation Award from the research study entitled ’health Utilities in Patients with Chronic Hepatitis B: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis’ under supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Chaikledkaew. 2) Ms. Natthakan Chitpim, a doctoral degree student in SEAP Program, received the 1st prize of the Best Poster Presentation Award in the field of Economic Evaluation from the research study entitled ’Cost-Utility Analysis of Molecular Testing for Tuberculosis Diagnosis in Suspected Pulmonary Tuberculosis in Thailand’ under supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Chaikledkaew. 3) Asst. Prof. Tanawan Kongmalai, a doctoral degree student in HTA Program, received the 3rd prize of the Best Poster Presentation Award in the field of Evidence Synthesis from the research study entitled ’Systematic Review and Network Meta-Analysis of Novel Anti-Diabetic Agents in the Treatment of Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease’ under supervision of Assoc. MUPY’s graduate programs including Master of Science in Pharmacy Program in Clinical Pharmacy (International Program) and Master of Science Program in Social, Economic and Administrative Pharmacy (International Program) have been internationally accredited by the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) which has been valid from 6 March 2020 - 5 March 2025. In this regard, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suvatna Chulavatnatol, MUPY’s Dean, along with the program directors of the two accredited programs, namely Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pramote Tragulpiankit, the director of the Master of Science in Pharmacy Program in Clinical Pharmacy, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Luerat Anuratpanich, the director of the Master of Science Programs in Social, Economic and Administrative Pharmacy, attended and received the AUN-QA Certificate in the Certificate Presentation Ceremony for AUN-QA Assessment of Mahidol University held on August 10, 2020, at Institute for Population and Social Research located at Mahidol University’s Salaya Campus. The awarding ceremony was presided by Mahidol University’s President, Prof. Banchong Mahaisavariya, M.D., who delivered the certificate to the representatives of the accredited graduate programs. Also joined the ceremony included MUPY faculty members and program committees. Furthermore, the Dean and Program Directors attended a special talk entitled ’AUN-QA Standard, Who Obtain the Benefits?’ hosted by Mahidol University’s Division of Quality Development. The event aimed to provide a session to share experiences of the accredited program’s staff as well as to encourage other graduate programs to apply for the AUN-QA assessment. Involved in the special event was Assoc. Prof. Preecha Montakantikul, Vice Chairperson of MUPY’s Department of Pharmacy, as one of the invited panelists. AUN-QA Network is established as the ASEAN quality assurance network in higher education with the responsibilities including promoting quality assurance in higher education institutions, raising the quality of higher education, and collaborating with both regional and international bodies for the benefit of the ASEAN community. The 5-year certification from AUN-QA is a significant mechanism in educational quality assurance as it formulates a common standard regionally and globally for member universities aiming to support student transfer or credit comparison, and strengthen the quality of higher education programs in the region. The certification is valid for 5 years, thus, the universities are allowed to adjust or improve the programs in accordance with the updated standards.
Congratulations to Lect. Dr. Sermsiri Sangroongruangsri and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Chaikledkaew, her thesis advisor, on receiving the “Outstanding Thesis Award” in the Doctoral Degree Level (Health Sciences and Applied Health Sciences Track) from her Ph.D. dissertation entitled “Safety of Intravitreal Bevacizumab and Ranibizumab Injections for Treatment of Retinal Disease Patients: An Observational Study”. Formerly, Lect. Dr. Sermsiri Sangroongruangsri was a doctoral degree student in Social, Economic and Administrative Pharmacy Program. The award was recently announced by Mahidol University’s Faculty of Graduate Studies. On January 28, 2020, at Clin.Prof.Udom Kachintorn, M.D. Conference Room, MUPY’s executives led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suvatna Chulavatnatol, MUPY’s Dean, together with faculty members hosted a reception for the delegation from Faculty of Pharmacy, Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Indonesia. UGM’s Faculty of Pharmacy delegates led by Prof. Dr. Agung Endro Nugroho officially visited MUPY to sign the MOU aiming to further promote the reciprocal exchange of faculty, staff and students, engage in joint research projects, foster the exchange of academic publications and information and promote other academic activities. After that, they had a chance to discuss future collaboration in the areas of Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and Social, Economic and Administrative Pharmacy (SEAP). Also joined the meeting included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arthorn Riewpaiboon, the Graduate Program Director in SEAP, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Chaikledkaew the Graduate Program Director in MU-HTA, and involved academic staff in both areas.
Congratulations to Dr. Chalakorn Chanatittarat, our former student in PhD in Pharmacy Administration (International) Program for officially receiving the Outstanding Thesis Award, 2018 (Group 3 Health sciences and applied sciences) at the Prince Mahidol Hall, Mahidol University on August 8, 2019. He conducted the thesis entitled “Thai nationwide burden of multiple sclerosis: an evidence-based care management policy” under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Usa Chaikledkaew, PhD.
On Friday 26th April 2019, Mahidol University’s graduate students in ’Health Technology Assessment (HTA) program’ and ’Social, Economic and Administrative Pharmacy (SEAP) program’ received research presentation awards in The 8th HTASiaLink Conference hosted by National Evidence-based Healthcare Collaborating Agency (NECA) during April 24-27, 2019 at Seoul University, Korea. The awardees are as follows. 1. Ms.Anne Julienne Genuino, HTA’s graduate student, received the 2nd place prize for Oral Presentation in the area of ’Economic Evaluation’ from the research study entitled ’Cost-utility analysis of adjuvant trastuzumab therapy for HER2-positive early stage breast cancer in the Philippines’ under supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Chaikledkaew. 2. Ms.Saowalak Turongkaravee, RPh., SEAP’s graduate student, received the 3rd place prize for Oral Presentation in the area of ’Health Systems Research’ from the research study entitled ’Association between SLCO1B1 gene and myopathy risk in patients receiving statin: A systematic review and meta-analysis’ under supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Chaikledkaew. 3. Ms.Monthira Assanatham, MD., HTA’s graduate student, received the 1st place prize for Poster Presentation from the research study entitled ’Cost-utility analysis of different renal replacement therapy modalities for end stage renal disease patients in Thailand’ under supervision of Assoc. The faculties and students from the SEAP and MUHTA program attended the 7th HTAsiaLink Annual Conference in Chiang Mai during 8-11 May 2018. This conference was co-organised by the Health Intervention and Technology Assessment Program (HITAP) and Mahidol University (MUHTA program) in the theme “Testing Treatments: Strengthening HTA for better healthcare”. Our two Ph.D. students received the prizes for Oral Presentation: 1. Ms. Kankamon Kittrongsiri receiving the second place prize in the area of ’Health Systems Research’ for the Oral Presentation entitles “Economic evaluation of terlipressin plus albumin for hepatorenal syndrome type I in Thailand” 2. Sermsiri Sangroongruangsri receiving the third place prize in the “Health Systems Research track” for the Oral Presentation entitles “Factors associated achievement of treating with anti-vascular endothelial growth factor drugs according to the treatment guideline”. Both of them received the Royal Golden Jubilee Ph.D. Program (RGJ-Ph.D. program) under supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Chaikledkaew.
On November 11th, 2016, MUPY executive led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Naeti Suksomboon, Assistant Dean for Graduate Studies, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wisuda Suvitayavat, Deputy Dean for Finance, along with faculty members in graduate program in Social, Economic and Administrative Pharmacy (SEAP) hosted a reception for the delegation from Faculty of Pharmacy, Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia. The purpose of their visit was to discuss about a credit transfer of SEAP programs between two institutions.
Assoc. Prof. Chuthamanee Suthisisang, Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University has signed the Memorandum of Academic Exchange with Prof. Kyu-Hyuck Chung, Dean of School of Pharmacy, Sungkyunkwan University. In the occasion that MUPY lecturers and graduate students in Social, Economic and Administrative Pharmacy (SEAP) program had an official study visit to School of Pharmacy, Sungkyunkwan University, they proudly attended the Memorandum of Academic Exchange signing ceremony between the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University and School of Pharmacy, Sungkyunkwan University. The objectives of the Memorandum of Academic Exchange are to promote the reciprocal exchange of faculty, staff and students, engage in joint research projects, foster the exchange of academic publications and information and promote other academic activities in the future.
MUPY lecturers and graduate students in Social, Economic and Administrative Pharmacy (SEAP) program had an official study visit in South Korea during October 15-18, 2013. The objectives of this visit were to extend students’ knowledge and exchange experiences in healthcare and drug system in South Korea. The group of graduate students (5 doctoral and 14 master students) led by Assist. Prof. Montarat Thavorncharoensap and Dr. Farsai Chanjaruporn had a great chance to visit the National Evidence-based Healthcare Collaborating Agency (NECA) and Korea Institute of Drug Safety and Risk Management to learn about the frameworks of drug assessment system and health technology and drug safety administrative system. Moreover the group also had a great opportunity to visit the School of Pharmacy, Sungkyunkwan University to exchange knowledge and research experiences with graduate students in South Korea.
Social, Economic and Administrative Pharmacy (SEAP) Curriculum arranged the study visit in South Korea during March 11-15, 2012. The objective of study visit was to strengthen and exchange knowledge and experiences with international experts in addition to learning in class. There were 7 PhD and 16 Master students as well as Assoc. Prof. Arthorn Riewpaiboon and Assoc. Prof. Cha-oncin Sooksriwongse. The study visit included National Evidence-based Healthcare Collaborating Agency (NECA), Korea Food and Drug Administration Office (KFDA), School of Pharmacy, Syngkyunkwan University, and Daewoong Pharmaceuticals Company.
