Diclofenac มีค่าครึ่งชีวิต (half-life) ประมาณ 1-3 ชั่วโมง นั่นคือจะใช้เวลาประมาณ 5-15 ชั่วโมงเพื่อขับยาออกจากร่างกายจนเกือบหมด สำหรับผู้ป่วยโรคความดันโลหิตสูง (hypertension) ไม่เป็นข้อห้ามใช้ (contraindication) ที่จะใช้ยานี้ แต่ยาอาจทำให้ความดันโลหิตเพิ่มเล็กน้อยได้ในผู้ป่วยบางราย ส่วนการเกิดโรคกล้ามเนื้อหัวใจหนา (cardiomyopathy) พบว่ามีความสัมพันธ์กับการใช้ยาต้านอักเสบกลุ่มที่ไม่ใช่สเตียรอยด์ (NSAIDs) ซึ่งรวมถึง diclofenac ด้วย
